About the Artist

Emma Dougherty is an artist, animator, and the founder of StopMoGo, an award-winning stop motion studio she has led since 2010. In 2024, three of her students won Ray Harryhausen Awards for short films she co-created and directed.

Storytelling and making things by hand have always been at the centre of what Emma creates.

Sharp, layered, and a little mischievous.

Early Work & Exhibitions

Her lifelong obsession with the Radcliffe Camera echoes throughout Animating Wonderland in the form of original artworks, including stop motion, assemblage, digital collage, and ceramics that are woven into the installation.

Bringing Worlds to Life

Deeply connected to the imagination and playfulness of childhood, Emma loves to create immersive experiences that let curiosity and joy lead the way. Every detail is considered, layered with story and symbolism.

The culmination of everything Emma has lived through and made, Animating Wonderland is an expansive, luminous, and hand-built world.

This is Wonderland, but not as you know it.
